Justus Gaylord, according to DAR archives, assisted in establishing American Independence, while acting in the capacity of a private, from the beginning to the end of the war. Justus Gaylord engaged in farming when the war broke out, and at once, with his four sons enterered the army, serving until the close of the war, without pay, and lived without pension. He also served in the French and Indian Wars of 1754. |
